Painting the magnolia tree at Union Station March 30, 2017

Painting today, March 30th, at Union Station Portland Oregon. Note the jackets and hats. It showered on and off all afternoon. Very wet paintout. We were all exaggerating the blooms on the magnolia tree. Paul Lockhart and Kara Wilde are the painter enjoying this fresh (windy) spring weather with me. Plein air painting the cherry trees along the Willamette River near the Steel Bridge in Portland Oregon today, March 28. Paul Lockhart and Kara Wilde joined me painting the trees pink. Painting Cornell Farms March 16, 2017

Plein air painting in Portland without rain. We did not know what to do with ourselves today...so we painted Cornell Farms on Barnes Road. Beautiful weather. Hard to believe it is Portland. Kara Wilde, Paul Lockhart, John Lehman, and Judy Shaw joined me.. Carrie Holst painted at PSU after I managed to confuse her as to our location. Sorry Carrie. Painting in the rain today at the CLSB in Portland Oregon. Wet on wet painting today. This is a do-over. Originally a market scene becomes Ross Island Bridge through the magic of plein air painting. Kara Wilde was also painting in the rain today. (The CLSB is the Collaborative Life Sciences Building of OSU, PSU and OHSU).  Kara Wilde painting Tilikum Crossing. Yes it was a little wet. Plein air painting in the rain in Portland at the Oregon Maritime Museum aboard the Steamer Portland. Kara Wilde, Paul Lockhart , John Lehman, and I painted under the awning on the deck of the steamer. Nice view but cold and wet. Welcome to plein air painting in Portland. I painted the Smith Block, an "iron" building on SW Naito. Walkers along the waterfront today were very scarce. A little misty rain and everyone disappears. Kara painting Burnside Bridge. Painting Elephants at the Oregon Zoo in the rain on March 7, 2017. Kara Wilde, John Lehman, and Paul Lockhart braved the rain to paint at the Oregon Zoo. Painting the pink flamingos at Cornell Farms March 1, 2017

Plein air painting at Cornell Farms, Portland Oregon. It was dark and stormy, but no rain. Camellias are not blooming yet but the flamingos have arrived...the first sign of Spring.
