Painting the steam engines at Oregon Rail Heritage Center, ORHC, today with Paul Lockhart and John Lehman. John painted SP #4449, and Paul and I painted OR&N 197. There is an electric show this weekend at ORHC where a little Tesla coil will produce a 500,000 volt spark...yiikes. Stand back.

Plein air painting in the rain in Portland at the Oregon Maritime Museum aboard the Steamer Portland. Kara Wilde, Paul Lockhart , John Lehman, and I painted under the awning on the deck of the steamer. Nice view but cold and wet. Welcome to plein air painting in Portland. I painted the Smith Block, an "iron" building on SW Naito. Walkers along the waterfront today were very scarce. A little misty rain and everyone disappears. Kara painting Burnside Bridge.
