Plein air painting with Kara Wilde at the Portland Art Museum Rose Garden. The yellow rose is "Julia Child". I am using gouache on hot-pressed paper and Kara is using oil on panel.

Plein air painting in the rain in Portland at the Oregon Maritime Museum aboard the Steamer Portland. Plein Air Painting at the International Rose Test Garden in Portland Oregon, July 2, 2015 with Carrie Holst . It was sunny and bright and hot so we only painted from 9am to noon. We were in the Gold Metal Garden. I painted the bright yellow roses called "Julia Child". Carrie was painting the whole garden including the gazebo.
