Plein air painting the 5000 roses at Peninsula Park Portland Oregon today, June 22, 2017 with Kara Wilde and Paul Lockhart. Boy did we have to paint fast. 5000+ roses in Peninsual Park and 75 variaties of roses. Boy are my arms tired. Paul won the award for the most roses in one painting. Congratulations Paul. Painting the dragon boat races in Portland Oregon June 11, 2017. Kara Wilde and Peggie Moje were also painting the dragon boats also. If they would just stop moving we could have done better. Painting USCGC Alert and USCGC Bluebell today, June 9, 2017, in Portland Oregon. This is an excellent example as to what the pesky sun can do to my vision while I am painting outside (plein air). This video starts with the soft light of the cloudy day. As the sun comes out the background gets bright-bright to the point I cannot see the painting.
