More June 2010 Plein Air Painings in Portland Oregon

This is one of Portland's working bridges. It opens in the middle to let barges, tugs, and ships through. George Roger's Park in Lake Oswego Oregon. It was raining the day I painted the Willamette River from George Roger's park. The river is up 20 feet or so from the rains and snow melt. The water bound bush in the foreground is actually a small tree. This is Hendricks Park in Eugene Oregon. The last Rhody is blooming. June 2010 Portland Plein Air Paintings

Festival of flowers at Pioneer Courthouse Square is being installed. Thousands of plants are moved into place. I was asked to leave the Square because of my easel. Photo easels are OK, but painting easels are somehow evil. My easel left feeling very bad. Illicit painting of Festival of Flowers. Pioneer Courthouse Square Portland Oregon June 2010. Union Station in Portland Oregon is scheduled for renovation. I hope they don't change its classic look. Fleet week - the US Coast Guard is in Portland for the Rose Festival. June 4, 2010. The Ferris Wheel is in Tom McCall Park. Sold in the Lake Oswego Art Festival 2010.

Rose Festival Show Painting

I entered this painting in the Oregon Society of Arists show for the Rose Festival 2010. It has been accepted into the show. This is Pittock Mansion in a rain storm. The Pittock family had a rose garden that led to the Rose festival every spring in Portland.
