Plein air painting in the rain in Portland at the Oregon Maritime Museum aboard the Steamer Portland. Kara Wilde, Paul Lockhart , John Lehman, and I painted under the awning on the deck of the steamer. Nice view but cold and wet. Welcome to plein air painting in Portland. I painted the Smith Block, an "iron" building on SW Naito. Walkers along the waterfront today were very scarce. A little misty rain and everyone disappears. Kara painting Burnside Bridge. Plein Air Painting at the International Rose Test Garden in Portland Oregon, July 2, 2015 with Carrie Holst . It was sunny and bright and hot so we only painted from 9am to noon. We were in the Gold Metal Garden. I painted the bright yellow roses called "Julia Child". Carrie was painting the whole garden including the gazebo.
